A place for career development
and professional growth.

Another way VRCCO promotes education is through externships and internships for both veterinary technicians and doctors.

Graduated DVMs are eligible to apply for a year long rotating internship in medicine, surgery, and emergency to help prepare them for specialty residency or to provide a solid foundation to practice as a general practitioner.

Rotations & Experiences:

  • Core rotations: Medicine, Surgery, Emergency, Neurology
  • Optional rotations: Dermatology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesia, Rehabilitation Therapy
  • Biweekly Topic Rounds and Journal Club Meetings
  • Radiology, Cardiology, and Morbidity and Mortality Rounds
  • Weekly Hospital-Wide Grand Rounds
  • One Presentation and/or Research Project

We also offer veterinary students the opportunity to complete 1-2 week externships across multiple specialties. Building on the same passion for teaching that guides our internship program, we aim to provide a hands-on and meaningful learning experience, whether you choose to focus on one specialty or explore several.
