DVM, URGENT CARE
Dr. Sean Ellison, DVM
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Sean received a BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.
Sean completed a year-long dedicated emergency and critical care internship in Glendale, WI and he has worked nearly exclusively in emergency medicine since that time, primarily at several large, multi-specialty hospitals.
His passion for emergency, urgent care and critical care medicine developed as an assistant at an emergency clinic in Madison and has grown over time. Sean deeply enjoys rapidly affecting a patient’s well-being and helping to provide comfort to the patient and their family.
Sean enjoys all aspects of emergency, urgent care and critical care medicine and has always valued detailed client communications and ensuring that a comprehensive plan is developed for their loved one in a way that is comfortable for both the pet parent that their beloved animal. Having worked predominantly as an ICU doctor throughout his career, Sean has grown to appreciate the complexity of critical care medicine and being able to assist a patient through their critical illness back to a state of health.
Sean enjoys mentoring new veterinarians and working as a cohesive team with other veterinarians, veterinary nurses, assistants and receptionist colleagues. Sean is excited to be a part of a skilled and collegial group of veterinary professionals at VRCCO and has grown to
appreciate the vibrant exchange of knowledge and optimization of patient care that occurs in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Outside of work, Sean loves and appreciates spending time with his wonderful, supportive wife, Brandy, their ultra-spoiled Chihuahua mix, Bentley and their Cockatiel, Monty. He also enjoys fitness, nutrition and hiking. Together they enjoy traveling and have previously taken several driving trips from their previous home in North Carolina to New England.
He has previously lived, worked and has been fortunate to experience a diversity of cultures and geography in Wisconsin, California, North Carolina and South Carolina. Sean is new to Bend (and recently new to Oregon) and he is excited to explore the diverse outdoor opportunities that Bend and central Oregon provide.
