Dr. Mauricio Dujowich

Dr. Mauricio Dujowich is a board-certified surgeon with broad interests in oncologic, soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, and then attended the UC Davis veterinary school. After completing a three-year surgical residency at Iowa State University, Dr. Dujowich spent five years in private practice in San Diego.

Dr. Dujowich’s enthusiasm for education led him to the University of Florida, where he became a faculty member. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is frequently invited to speak at national and international conferences on surgery, education, and research. Dr. Dujowich’s passion for improving patient outcomes has led to becoming certified in canine rehabilitation therapy and creating the Bone, Joint, and Spine center within VRCCO. The goal for the center is to have a much more intentional approach to orthopedics, joint replacement, spinal surgery, and rehabilitation therapy so we can maximize success. Dr. Dujowich is responsible for founding VetPrep and VetTechPrep, educational platforms that help veterinarians and veterinary technicians prepare for their national licensing exams.

Dr. Dujowich is an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed volunteering his surgical skills to organizations such as the Jacksonville Zoo, White Oak Conservation Center, and the San Diego Safari Park. He has operated on anteaters, tigers, cheetahs, and dolphins.
