Cancer is the leading cause of death in dogs over the age of 10. Although cancer is less common in cats as compared to dogs, cats tend to be diagnosed with more aggressive forms of cancer. No one wants to be faced with a cancer diagnosis in their pet. If you find yourself faced with that reality, we seek to empower you through this difficult time by educating you on all of your options and providing the best care possible. Most treatment options for cancers aim to extend the life of your pet as comfortably as possible, rather than cure the cancer. We are able to offer chemotherapy treatments tailored specifically to your pet’s needs. Our IM department may team up with the surgical department if surgery is an appropriate treatment for your pet’s cancer. We can also refer you for radiation treatment if you wish to pursue that route. Whatever treatment options you choose for your pet, we want you to feel supported and empowered to make the best decision for you and your pet.
